Springport Township Board Meeting
June 11, 2018
Springport Townships regular monthly meeting was called to order at 7:02pm, in the township hall on June 11, 2018.
Board members present were Schmidt, Riehle, Mitchell, Sebastian and Losey. Chief Luce was also present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
County Commissioner-Not present
Public Comment- None
* A motion was made by Sebastian to accept the May 14th, 2018 minutes, supported by Mitchell and the motion passed.
Board Member Losey gave the Treasurer’s report. General Fund has a checking account balance of $306,949.83 Police checking has a balance of $261,211.10 and Fire Operating has a balance of $167,309.31 and Fire Equipment $36,812.62
*Motion to approve the treasurer’s report as printed by Sebastian, supported by Mitchell and it carried.
Budget Amendment- Riehle suggested the following: Increase 101-101-900-000 Printing and Publishing by $200; Decrease 101-101-955-000 Miscellaneous Expenditure by $200.
*Motion to approve the budget amendment as suggested by Mitchell, supported by Sebastian and it carried.
General Fund Post Audit for Approval: $122.09
Police Post Audit for Approval: $5,637.19
Fire Post Audit: N/A
*Mitchell moved to pay post audit bills, motion supported by Sebastian and it passed unanimously.
General Fund Current Bills for Approval: $11,154.98
Police Current Bills for Approval: $34,396.10
Fire Current Bills for Approval: $17,022.74
*Mitchell moved to pay current bills, motion supported by Sebastian and it passed unanimously.
Police Report: Chief Luce reported that the new police car is in and is getting outfitted. The car should be ready in about 3 weeks. The memorial day parade went well.
Planning Commission: Did not meet this month
Fire Board: Meets June 18, 2018
Supervisor/Assessor’s Report: Supervisor Schmidt stated that he will get the new tax roll to Losey within the next week. Personal property loss has been submitted and the township has already received a check.
IT Quote/Server- Schmidt presented the board with a quote to hook up a server in the office so that all computers can be linked. The board discussed the need for the server.
* A motion was made by Sebastian to accept the IT quote and install the server, supported by Schmidt and the motion passed.
