Springport Township Board Meeting
October 14, 2019
Springport Townships regular monthly meeting was called to order at 7:00pm, in the township hall on October 14, 2019. Board members present were Schmidt, Riehle, Marsh, Mitchell and Sebastian;. Chief Luce and Linda Griffith were also present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Public Comment- None
* A motion was made by Mitchell to accept the September 9, 2019 minutes as written, supported by Sebastian and the motion passed.
Board Member Marsh gave the Treasurer’s report. General Fund has a checking account balance of $402,093.63 Police checking has a balance of $252,708.11 and Fire Operating has a balance of $173,052.26 and Fire Equipment $37,103.59
*Motion to approve the treasurer’s report for audit by Riehle, supported by Sebastian and it carried.
*Motion to accept budget amendment as suggested made by Mitchell, supported by Sebastian and the motion carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF POST AUDIT BILLS General Fund:$98.33; Fire N/A ; Police:$6,830.86
APPROVAL OF BILLS: General Fund:$10,869.41; Fire:$17.00; Police:$8,202.20
*Mitchell moved to pay post audit and current bills, motion supported by Marsh and it passed unanimously.
Police Report: Chief Luce provided stats for the month and reported that September was one of the busier months of the year. Officer Brant attended the Homecoming dance.
Road Report-The Pope Church Rd bridge should be in around November 1st, Holibaugh Rd is scheduled for October 2019 and Town Rd between Brown and N. Parma is scheduled for summer 2020
Fire Board Report- Fire board did not meet. Linda Griffith was able to question the board and offer her opinion regarding the possibility of a new fire station.
Supervisor/Assessor’s Report: Supervisor Schmidt is still working on the condemned houses within the township.
*Mitchell moved to accept the SEMCO Energy Franchise Ordinance as written, motion supported by Sebastian and it passed unanimously.
