Springport Township Board Meeting
August 13, 2018
Springport Townships regular monthly meeting was called to order at 7:00pm, in the township hall on August 13,2018.
Board members present were Schmidt, Riehle, Mitchell, Sebastian and Losey. Sgt. Cain and Commissioner Lightner was also present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
County Commissioner- Sarah Lightner reported that the semi-annual road report is out and it lists the road plans for 2018. There are several committee openings within the county. Lightner spoke on Jackson County being a pilot county for the mental health initiative and the planning that has taken place on how to use the funds. Discussion on the parks millage that passed at the August Primary election.

* A motion was made by Sebastian to accept the July 9th, 2018 minutes, supported by Mitchell and the motion passed.
Board Member Losey gave the Treasurer’s report. General Fund has a checking account balance of $310,983.69 Police checking has a balance of $205,477.58 and Fire Operating has a balance of $150,299.20 and Fire Equipment $36,846.47
*Motion to approve the treasurer’s report as printed by Mitchell, supported by Sebastian and it carried.
General Fund Post Audit for Approval: $137.00
Police Post Audit for Approval: $10,115.15
Fire Post Audit: $39.65
*Sebastian moved to pay post audit bills, motion supported by Mitchell and it passed unanimously.
General Fund Current Bills for Approval: $8,358.84
Police Current Bills for Approval: $1,426.33
Fire Current Bills for Approval: $N/A
*Mitchell moved to pay current bills, motion supported by Sebastian and it passed unanimously.
Police Report: Sgt. Cain went over monthly stats and reported the new car is in service.
Planning Commission: Planning commission worked on land divisions. They will now be meeting quarterly.
Supervisor/Assessor’s Report: Working on 4029. Discussion on new cost manual and how that will affect values.
*Sebastian moved for Losey to get petty cash in the amount of $250.00, motion supported by Mitchell and it passed unanimously.
*Sebastian moved for Luce to get a line of credit with 2 cards, one for each vehicle, with a limit of $1000.00 to replace petty cash, motion supported by Mitchell and it passed unanimously.
*Sebastian moved to keep the inspector wages the same as the currently, motion supported by Mitchell and it passed unanimously.
Board Comments: Losey reported that so far she has taken 249 tax payments.e
