Springport Township Board Meeting

April 9, 2018

Springport Townships regular monthly meeting was called to order at 7:02pm, in the township hall on April 9, 2018.   Board members present were Schmidt, Riehle, Mitchell, Sebastian and Losey.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

County Commissioner-  Not Present

Public Comment- None      

* A motion was made by Mitchell to accept the March 12th, 2018 and March 28, 2018 special meeting minutes, supported by Schmidt and the motion passed.

Board Member Losey gave the Treasurer’s report.  General Fund has a checking account balance of $296,508.11 Police checking has a balance of $271,391.42 and Fire Operating has a balance of $158,853.00 and Fire Equipment $36,778.25

*Motion to approve the treasurer’s report as printed by Mitchell, supported by Schmidt and it carried.

General Fund Post Audit for Approval: N/A

Police Post Audit for Approval: $3959.64

Fire Post Audit: N/A

*Mitchell moved to pay post audit bills, motion supported by Sebastian and it passed unanimously.

General Fund Current Bills for Approval: $7621.49

Police Current Bills for Approval: $881.41

Fire Current Bills for Approval: N/A

*Mitchell moved to pay current bills, motion supported by Losey and it passed unanimously.

Police Report: Officer Cain reported that March was a quiet month with nothing major to report.  Stats were not available before the board meeting.

Committee Reports:

Planning Commission: Did not meet this month

Fire Board: Did not meet this month

Supervisor/Assessor’s Report:

Supervisor Schmidt reported that everything is turned into  the county for 2018 tax roll

UNFINISHED BUSINESS


  • Blight Ordinance-  Losey will contact Mr. Truchan to have him review the current ordinance and make changes as needed.  Officer Cain will start enforcing the Blight Ordinance

  • Bids for interior door installed at township office- No bids were received. Riehle will repost a proposal for bids.  


NEW BUSINESS

  • Board of Review- Alternate seat:  Schmidt requested to appoint Stan Keeler to the Board of Review as an alternate.  

*A motion was made by Sebastian to appoint Stan Keeler to the Board of Review as an alternate. supported by Mitchell and the motion passed.
